How To Crochet A Rubber Ducky Amigurumi Cuddler Pillow. Our Rubber Ducky Crochet Pattern Is Created With Beginners In Mind & Works Up Quickly!
Hi friend! We’re so excited to share our Rubber Ducky crochet pattern Kawaii Cuddler® with you!
A few fun facts we learned about Rubber Ducky while researching our pattern:
- The rubber ducky originated in the late 1800s, and was originally made of the newly available hard rubber, and as they were intended as a toy to chew on, they were not hollow, so they were not buoyant.
- Rubber ducks are typically played with in the bathtub, especially by young children, and they have been used to encourage children to be less fearful of having a bath.
- Sesame Street’s Ernie popularized the rubber duck in 1970, when he first sang a song about his own ‘Rubber Duckie’, the Muppet’s favorite toy, and the song became a hit and had significant impact on some aspects of western culture.
Our Rubber Ducky crochet pattern is happy to join our other friends Owl Kawaii Cuddler®, Chick Kawaii Cuddler®, and Flamingo Kawaii Cuddler®.
Our finished Rubber Ducky project is 12″ x 11″ using the recommended hook size. You are welcome to go up or down a hook size to create a different dimension. You can even hold two pieces of yarn together with a larger hook to create a giant cuddler. The sky is the limit!
If you’ve never worked one of our Kawaii Cuddler® patterns, they are geared towards beginners. You will work two flat pieces and single crochet them together to finish the piece. Even if you’ve never been able to crochet from a pattern before, we’re confident you can create with a 3amgracedesigns pattern.
